LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 330-290 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 7.79 g, 3 h). Head of Demeter to right, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. META Barley ear with leaf to right; to lower left, ΛY; above leaf, star. HN Italy 1592. Johnston Class C, 8. Lightly toned. A few minor scratches, otherwise, good very fine.
